About Our Farm
East Slope Farm is a family farm dedicated to growing high quality, clean, and responsibly grown produce.
The Nischke family is starting their fourth growing season. The farm specializes in growing several varieties of the common vegetables and herbs, along with some nontraditional and perhaps unfamiliar vegetables, which brings novelty and diversity to the farm and to the customer. The farm offers vegetables to customers directly through CSA subscriptions and farmers' markets. East Slope Farm is currently working on organic certification for 2015.
East Slope Farm is located 25 miles NE of Waupaca between Marion and Manawa, on the east slope of a drumlin left behind by the glacier.
Brian and Anne got married and started East Slope Farm in the summer of 2011. Brian has wanted to farm since he was a kid, though he didn't really know what being a farmer meant. Growing up he worked on dairy farms baling hay and milking cows. Skipping ahead a few years Brian studied environmental education and biology then taught environmental and experiential education, before deciding to revisit that childhood dream. After working on two vegetable CSA farms and another dairy farm Brian decided it was time to start his own. Brian and Anne have taken a kid's dream, an idea, and some entrepreneurial enthusiasm and turned it into East Slope Farm.
East Slope Farm LLC offers produce through CSA and farmers' markets. There are CSA pick up sites in Stevens Point, Waupaca, New London, Green Bay, Neenah, Appleton, Oshkosh, Wilmette IL, Highland Park IL, and on the farm in Manawa. We attend the Neenah Summer Farmers' Market too.
